Looking Ahead at the Whitney Museum

Sorry for the month long delay Whitney blog museum fans

The Youth Insights program has been in existence since 1997. Since then many of the Youth Insights interns have gone on to be established and celebrated  in their careers. It just so happens that the Youth Insights Summer Intensive program is all about career awareness. So it seems fit that the former interns come back and share their experiences with us.
These former Whitney Museum interns have all gone on and chosen varying careers such as Entrepreneurship, Television/ Film editing and stand-up comedy. Although their career choices are very different from one another they all had the same basic message. Their message being find what drives you, your passion  and make a career out of it. Whether it be dancing, cooking, or mathematics.
The second part of the session dealt with networking. Networking by definition is the  exchange of information or services among individuals, groups, or institutions. And that is exactly what we were taught. More specifically we were taught that networking is the cultivation of productive relationships for employment or business. Which means that in order to have a productive  network you need to not only receive, but you must also give. By doing so you are engaging in an equally  benefiting relationship.
I hope you find this useful and interesting.
